Heidi Mercado is a Pastor and a Preacher alongside her husband. As a mother of five and grandmother of two, she embodies the spirit of community and resilience. A survivor herself, Heidi is an advocate and faith leader committed to breaking the silence surrounding domestic violence. She empowers communities to respond with truth, compassion, and action. With a heart for restoration, inspiration, and justice, she brings lived experience, professional insight, and biblical perspectives to her work in supporting survivors and educating faith communities. As the founder of R.I.S.E and a leader in initiatives dedicated to domestic violence support for women and families affected by abuse, Heidi equips churches, leaders, and advocates with the necessary tools to recognize abuse, support survivors safely, and foster environments where healing can begin. Her focus is on survivor empowerment, trauma-informed care, and building collaborative networks that prioritize safety, dignity, and accountability. Through workshops, community outreach, and coalition building, Heidi is passionate about helping survivors reclaim their voices and transforming faith communities into places of refuge rather than silence. Her mission is deeply rooted in the belief that while abuse thrives in isolation, healing flourishes in community.

A Faith Community Against Domestic Violence

The CCADV is a collaborative network of churches, faith organizations, and advocates dedicated to the mission of eradicating domestic violence through education, outreach, and a trauma-informed support system that is Christ-centered. This initiative also emphasizes domestic violence support and survivor empowerment, while engaging faith leaders in advocacy efforts.

Building Community

Ending domestic violence requires more than individual efforts—it takes a united community willing to stand in the gap for those who have been silenced. Our coalition is dedicated to fostering strong, collaborative relationships among faith leaders, churches, service providers, advocates, and survivors to create safer, more responsive communities.

Through education, shared resources, open dialogue, and collective action, we promote domestic violence support and build a supportive network where survivors are believed, protected, and empowered. We work to break the silence surrounding abuse, challenge harmful beliefs, and equip communities with the tools needed to respond with compassion, accountability, and justice, all while emphasizing faith leaders' advocacy.

Together, we are creating spaces of safety, hope, and restoration, ensuring survivor empowerment is at the heart of our mission.

Workshops for Churches

Our workshops are designed to educate, equip, and empower individuals and communities to identify, prevent, and respond effectively to domestic violence. Through survivor-centered and trauma-informed training, we provide practical tools, biblical insight, and real-world approaches for faith leaders, churches, advocates, and community members engaged in domestic violence support.

Topics include understanding domestic violence, identifying warning signs, fostering healthy relationships, safety planning, supporting survivors, and responding to abuse within faith communities. Each workshop creates a safe space for learning, dialogue, and transformation—encouraging accountability while promoting compassion and healing, essential for survivor empowerment.

Whether offered in person or virtually, our workshops strengthen awareness, challenge harmful myths, and help build communities that are informed, responsive, and committed to ending abuse through faith leaders advocacy.
