Domestic Violence Awareness Conference

The Christian Coalition Against Domestic Violence: Faith Voices invites faith leaders, advocates, professionals, survivors, and community members to our Domestic Violence Awareness Conference in October 2026—held in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 

This conference is designed to equip, educate, and empower faith communities to respond to domestic violence with wisdom, compassion, and accountability while centering survivor safety and healing. 

Conference Purpose 

Domestic violence continues to impact individuals and families across all communities, including the church. Too often, silence, misunderstanding, or misused theology has caused additional harm. This conference creates space for honest dialogue, learning, and collaboration—rooted in faith and informed by trauma-aware best practices. 

What to Expect 

Participants can expect: 

- Survivor-centered and trauma-informed teaching 

- Faith-based perspectives that uphold safety, dignity, and justice 

- Practical tools for responding to disclosures of abuse 

- Guidance on prevention, accountability, and healthy faith leadership 

- Opportunities for connection, reflection, and collective action 

Sessions will address topics such as: 

- Understanding domestic violence in faith contexts 

- Responding safely and compassionately to survivors 

- The impact of spiritual abuse and harmful theology 

- Building safer churches and faith communities 

- Collaboration between faith leaders and advocacy professionals

Additionally, we will touch on the intersection of domestic violence and human trafficking awareness, emphasizing the need for comprehensive support systems.

This event aims to equip, educate, and empower faith communities in understanding the dynamics of human trafficking and how you can get involved.

- Opportunities for connection, reflection, and collective action

Sessions will cover topics such as:

- Understanding human trafficking

- What are the signs of human trafficking

- How to respond and what to do

- The misconceptions of human trafficking

- How faith leaders can effectively respond
